29-year-old GM Vidit Gujrathi is part of an army of very talented Indian chess grandmasters.

His first big win was in 2008, when he became the first Indian player to win the U14 World Championship. In 2018, he won the Challenger group in the Tata Steel Chess Tournament in Wijk an Zee.

In 2023, he won the FIDE Grand Swiss Tournament and qualified for the 2024 Candidates Tournament, where he finished 6th.

Vidit visited Malmo already in 2018, where he shared first place in the Tepe Sigeman Chess Tournament with Nils Grandelius . He is participating in the Tepe Sigeman Chess Tournament for the second time.
