20-year-old GM Arjun Erigaisi is one of many young and very talented Indian chess grandmasters.
In 2016, he won the U-13 Indian Championship, and he became a grandmaster at the age of 14. In
2022, he won the Tata Steel Chess Challengers, scoring 10½ points over 13 rounds. In 2022, he also won the Indian Chess Championship and the Abu Dhabi Masters. In the 2022 TePe Sigeman Chess Tournament, he shared place 2-4 behind winner Hans Niemann.
In the 2023 FIDE Chess World Cup, he reached the quarter-finals, where he lost to fellow countryman Praggnanandhaa after a tie-break.
He is participating in the TePe Sigeman Chess Tournament for the third time.
